The Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance, held on the 18th fairway of the Pebble Beach Golf Links, is the world’s most prestigious classic car competition. The concours itself is a study in curation at the highest level. Approximately 200 cars are displayed across 30 classes, each judged by a panel of experts who evaluate authenticity, condition, and historical significance. The 2026 edition features a special class celebrating 100 years of Bentley, with examples drawn from the company’s own heritage collection and the world’s most significant private collections. The Best of Show award, announced at 4pm on the 18th green, is the most coveted prize in the collector car world, and the moment of the announcement is one of the most emotional in motorsport — owners, restorers, and family members often in tears as the trophy is presented.
Monterey Car Week — The Full Programme
The concours is the finale of a week that includes a series of events that are individually significant. The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on Friday August 14, is the week’s most exclusive event, limited to 4,000 guests who enjoy a curated display of cars, a gourmet lunch, and a level of service that has made it the most sought-after ticket of the week. The Rolex Motorsports Reunion at Laguna Seca (August 12–16) offers historic racing at one of America’s greatest circuits, with grids that include everything from pre-war Bugattis to 1970s Can-Am monsters. On Saturday evening, Bonhams holds its annual auction at the Quail Lodge, where records are routinely broken.
The Chairman’s Suite — Premier Access
The Chairman’s Suite is the highest tier of hospitality at the Pebble Beach Concours, offering a private garden suite overlooking the show field with dedicated service, a champagne bar, and a gourmet lunch. The price point is $2,500 per person, and the suite provides the best vantage point on the course for watching the judging and the Best of Show presentation. Accommodation on the Monterey Peninsula during Car Week is the most competitive booking in the American hotel calendar. Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur offers the most spectacular setting, with rooms perched on the cliffs 1,200 feet above the Pacific. Carmel Valley Ranch offers a more accessible alternative, with suites that open onto the valley’s oak-studded hillsides.
