The 2026 ceremony takes place on Saturday September 6 at the Prudential Center in Newark, broadcast live on MTV and Paramount+ to a global audience. Red Carpet Access

Access to the red carpet area is controlled by MTV’s events team, with passes allocated to credentialed media, VIP guests, and a small number of fan winners. Octobere has secured a limited allocation of red carpet access passes for the 2026 ceremony, allowing members to walk the carpet, participate in the pre-show atmosphere, and be photographed against the VMAs’ iconic branded backdrop. The red carpet opens at 5pm, and the pre-show broadcast begins at 7pm.
VIP Seating — Inside the Prudential Center
The Prudential Center’s seating for the VMAs is organised in a tiered system that reflects the hierarchy of the music industry. The floor section is reserved for nominees, performers, and invited industry executives. The lower bowl (sections 1–15) hosts VIP guests, label executives, and contest winners. Octobere holds a block of seats in the lower bowl, offering optimal sightlines for both the stage and the celebrity-watching that is the VMAs’ primary appeal. The seats are within the camera sightlines, meaning guests appear in the broadcast’s crowd shots throughout the night.
The Official After-Party
MTV’s official after-party is the most exclusive gathering of the night, with capacity limited to 500 guests. The 2026 location is expected to be a converted warehouse in downtown Manhattan, with performances by a headlining act, a champagne bar, and a guest list that includes the night’s winners, presenters, and performers. Octobere holds an allocation of invitations to the official after-party for members attending the VMAs, available on request.
New York — The VMA Weekend
The Ritz-Carlton Battery Park is the preferred hotel for VMA attendees, offering direct views of the Statue of Liberty and a position that is equidistant from the Prudential Center and the Manhattan after-party venues. For pre-show dinner, Carbone in Greenwich Village is the definitive reservation — the spicy rigatoni is the most ordered dish in New York for a reason. After the after-party, the Polo Bar on East 55th Street offers a late-night burger and martini experience that has become a post-VMA tradition for the industry crowd.
